Would you understand the wall?
built around this heart in sorrow
hiding from each story that breaks
headlines tonight – video tomorrow!

Mother Nature snaps her fingers
we dance to her wind driven hymns
madman shoots with no reason or rhyme
bringing terror as sunset dims

Enraged kids in anger’s amusement
take a life with gardening toys
and then a man lay dying alone
at the hand of disgruntled boys

For a time we watch in horror
drawing close those we hold dear
as we find with extraordinary force
how to hold back a humanity’s fear

I understand exactly how you feel. This is why as a rule, I don't watch the news.

Sharon

I turn it off too...You wrote my feelings about the impact of the negative reporting of the things going on in the world.  Very well done!
