Marooned, I wait the coming tide,
for life should never be on hold.
I’ll raise my sails and strike the bar,
though journey wet and often cold.

I scan horizons, that I see
the obstacles which are ahead,
but sometimes many can’t be seen.
I’ll brave each fathom ‘fore I’m dead.

Some so fear life they fail to live.
Their lives are little more than death,
stagnating ’til the hole is dug.
If I’ve no wind, I’ll use my breath.

For this, the only life I have.
It is my voyage, long and deep
and when I’ve reached where stars have drowned,
I hope there’ll be no cause to weep.

We are the captains of our lives.
It is our choice if we’re to sail,
or timid, never leave the shore.
I’ll face the sea,  each storm and gale.

It's wonderful how positive you are Michael. sometimes I am ashamed that I let the negative grab hold of me and take me down.
Many good wishes for a full life ahead for you.

"If I've no wind, I'll use my breath"

Oh, wow! this is the epitomy of living fully, and sailing through life no matter the sun or the storm. Such courage. It makes me want to do that!
What a great poem. I like it very much. It is so inspiring; it reminds me, we have a choice.Changing attitude and taking charge. Thank you, I needed this reminder.

Like your work. Always look forward to catching it.

There is nothing quite as graceful and beautiful as a sailboat in a strong wind. I enjoyed this one much, my dear friend, and can smell the salt air all the way across the pond!

The music is playing..it's your turn to dance!
