The Letter

Timeless so it seems
Handcuffs around my heart
Don’t know to say the words
The words full of pain
Why must I stand here in the rain?

You gave you’re love
Unconditional and plain
Don’t know how to take it
Lingering here with me is your desire
Why must I walk through the fire?

I had to brake your heart
The one you gave without regret
A fool’s game was my love
Exploring love, yet to devour
Reaching to give you your flower

The only thing that will be left of me
The one ode I can give to you
The one which one will always be true
Is the memory of me
That is what I can give to thee

Trust in what I whispered
Trust in what you have felt that night
Trust it will be with me
Do not ask me to give more
Do not pry to open yet another door

I did not mean to cause pain
I did not mean to stir your soul
I did not wanted to see tears
I have to leave it’s for the better
That’s why I wrote to you this letter.

Thoughts whirl through my female mind as I read this work...
To love without condition is a powerful gift. It requires no return to be...how fortunate that you have had that grace your life. ThisDiamond

Welcome home, Helmut!
You've been gone far too long!

Sometimes a letter is the best way...it doesn't stutter, doesn't blush, lays out the facts...

write more letters, Helmut...

Good to see you, Helmut!

Truth is sometimes easier when written, and when you can't see the tears.

The letter of last love is always the longest.

Thank you.

The soul behind the written words thank those who have chosen to answer. And yes, you are more than friends, you are within my thoughts and heart. I thank thee with  humble in my heart for your kind words. To know you there means so much to me.
This Diamond: how can I stir your soul some more, lets see.......
Enchantress: you know.....I missed you too
Sunshine: A letter perhaps for you, my friend. But you know what it would read!
Martie: Paper can take away a lot of pain, but never a friend.
Moonlight: Yes and it seem never to be enough, doesn't it.
Suthern: Thank you for your nice welcome back and with melancholy in my heart....I'm yours
Nan: We can speak words no other can understand.....but ein Freund is always my friend.... thank you my friend
Marge: To see you here fills my heart with such joy and laugther. How is your family addition doing Marge. I hope all is well.
Poet DeVine: I am lost in your eyes which are so wonderful too, thank you.
Nightshade: I thank thee and I am glad I brought some light into your night.
In case I forgot someone.....you too are with me and I am glad I have you all to guide me

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
