A smattering of matter twirling 'round a distant star.
How vain, to think that we're the only ones to come so far.
The vastness of the Cosmos should give pause to think this through,
surely there are laws which govern other races too.

Aliens, in spring-time do your young men fancy love?
Have you your own dieties, you pray to up above?
Do your myths and legends center 'round some family tree?
Are you at this moment asking these same things of me?

Questions without answers we'll unlikely ever know.
All the same worth asking, just in case "They" ever show.
Not that I'd be branded as some "Fruitcake" who believes,
from another planet is some poetry recieved.

Very creative this is... a first from this perspective as well from what I've seen   Like this much.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

Good questions, Moose. Is their other life and do they write poetry, too? Toerag makes me believe in extra-terrestrial beings even though he doesn't fulfill the second requirement.

Yes, I can accept the idea someone somewhere is out there, wondering if they are the only ones.....otherwise, where do all of the Star Trek characters come from?

ThUnDeRkYsS,
Thanks. My perspective has been rather skewed
for many, many years.
Doc

Balladeer,
Thank you, I'll go you one further, not only do I believe in aliens, but I'm convinced they walk among us. Where else do all those people who get in the way of accomplishing anything come from?
Doc

Paladin,
So many planets, so little time. Thank you my friend.

Yeah! Someone else is a believer! This was a great poem and I loved the subject matter. I posted "The Endless Skies" about a UFO I saw. Actually I have seen three of them at different times many years ago, and two of the three were written about in the newspapers.

~ Keep looking up! ~

Doc, enjoyed the read.
To answer Balladeer's question. According to an episode of Star trek next gen. All the main alien races orginated from the same lifeform.
