Using the challenge "tired dribblings from a cracked pen" Umm...I personally think this got better at the end. lol..seems like the fountain finally opened up then. *sigh* More of a thoughtful think on writing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are poets
in the full wrap of ramble
setting aside caution to whip the world
with a passion and desire to create.
There is a desire to see emotions on fire
when our words
applied in all the right aspects of life
take effect.
but
there is the sin of sitting too long
pondering too far out
going the distance so far
that we seem to forget
not only do we owe it to ourselves to be raw
to be unburdened
but we owe it to our readers to be captivating
creating new realms of thought
dreaming of new and inspiring ways to feel what is around us.
We get trapped by self indulgent ‘feeling parties’
and our emotions drip like liquid from broken coffee makers.
They become tired dribblings from a cracked pen that thinks so slowly
we scarce realize we are sluggishly drained
until our feet are stuck in the mud of the shallow end.
We were staring too long.
We were standing in one place too long
and we loose the strength of our inspirations that way.
Yes, we must do this for the reader.  We must take them away to that new place.
Thank you.
An inspiring write --
a great way to say
"Get your head out of your butt,
and into the clouds."
That's what poetry should do.
This
does.
BRAVO!!! Oh Jennifer, this is so very true, I think that is the magic of poetry, we can go and be nomadic and go from one place to another all the time, and when we feel our ankles are sore then our pen is cracked, but neverthless there is always that second wind drawing in! (big hugggsssss) This is marvelous, sweet friend, I LOVE IT, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jennifer, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Love,
