If my life were set in rough stone What of granite, what of diamond ore? Would I just take the path well worn What I came here still searching for If my life were to be but mine alone, Lost among the furthest probabilities could I believe this heart now torn. Scaling heights of golden possibilities If my heart beat pulsed but once more Stone without a pulse or prayer And my breath’s gasp expired it's last Denied of warmth or bend to bear Could I regain the throb once sure A man not stone to rise and fall And go on beyond what now is past? Strength to forgive myself in all A stone turned, tossed , among the rubble For as I learn the cliff and face Looking no different than the rest As clay or sand to leave this place Try to go on, be no trouble A man of honor, a man of stone Wanting to be and do what’s best A man of love mere flesh and bone Lead me by the heart through the unknown valley Take my hand and dance these steps upon the stones Lead me now, let's not tarry I wish to rest my soul, these bones Copyright 2002, Magnus/ThisDiamond [This message has been edited by Magnus (09-27-2002 10:55 PM).] |

Oh, I almost missed this one!! Wonderful words the two of you have written!! Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |
