my thoughts are my own
spanning time and tide in ways
that cannot be imagined
       I walk not under the influence
       of moon or stars
       I hear not the voice
               of the sea
but rather,
       the only thing that guides
is my heart
       my heart and my soul lead
     held by the hand
                  held by the hand
                      of one who knows the path
and tells me that I'm going the right way

                          (even if no one else thinks I am)

You can't go wrong when you listen to your soul, which to me is the voice of God, or when you listen to your heart which speaks from a place of love.

This poem is so rich and full of meaning.

Truth is that my mind is always cluttered with so many options that my heart is the better leader even though, it usually gets me into trouble. lol.

I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?”
