This one just needed to be written. It doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the stuff I need to write pertaining to this subject. *sigh* One day?..at least it will make a good book of poetry if I have the courage to write it. Sorry for the personal peak everyone. I'm not very good at hiding the truth behind my words sometimes. I've determined that missing them doesn't mean you're supposed to be with them.

Autumn sends whispers
promises a new season for my soul.
The nights here aren’t the same
as the ones when you were closer.
The mood doesn’t feel the same
but change is a necessity it seems.
I miss the things about you that matched me
Like your restlessness
that was always a constant companion for my own.
And even though we seemed to ruin our pockets
the time together exploring the world
was something that built us.
When did we start stepping too softly around love?
When did we begin to trample on each other’s wills?
I’m sorrry you couldn’t be the man you pretended
and I’m sorry I couldn’t be strong enough
to accept what wasn’t there.
It always seems to fall to the woman to be stronger
and that is where I failed
for I believe you married a girl in the mask of a woman.
I hid that from myself.
So I’m sitting here
listening to the wind we loved when we first came here
feeling it in my hair
as it paints its presence on my skin
and I’m thinking of you
the quiet moments
the midnight rides dedicated to settling our restless whims.
The way that sharing a couch was a perfect moment
in a marriage supposed to be our own.
Nothing else mattered.
We played our own song.
danced in our own way
loved despite the voices.
So how did we fall
and why didn’t we have the strength to get back up?

Oh Jen, geez.....damn girl this is reaching so deep inside yourself and it was obviously screaming to be out.....and you wrote it so well. Hugs to you dear poet friend, you keep writing them, we will keep reading them. Awesome writing!

Wonderful expressed poem Temptress. Sometimes people change, growth is part of human nature. Unfortanetly sometimes the growth leads us to different avenues in life. Keep writing honey, you do it so well.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Jennifer, I understand the frustration here and my heart goes out to you, change is an important necessity of life and either what makes love fruitful and healthy or too much change can tarnish it sometimes! It all depends on how someone in courtship can adjust and cope with anothers changes and if one can't respect it then the strength is lost! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, my thoughts are with you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jennifer, thank you for sharing!
