Early Friday
A telling tale of Krissy

Early Friday morning before she’s wide awake
We have to get going there’s a trip we have to make
Come on my darling daughter get on out of there
It’s hard rousing Krissy who’s as grumpy as a bear
Still asleep my Krissy? Well, wake up darling do
Or I know we’ll be late and I’ll put the blame you
I’ll stand there at the check-in and say it was she
So don’t you point your finger or think of blaming me

Early Friday morning as the sun streaks the sky
We have to get going we’ll really have to fly
My Krissy isn’t driving she’s not at her best
She the poor little angel needs twenty hours rest
I’ll not tell you tales but if I did you’d soon see
That I’m not joking about her being so sleepy
She’s driven herself to work almost in a dream
Not even seeing what’s in her rear windscreen

Early Friday morning as the dawn rises up
I’ll be feeding dear Krissy black coffee by the cup
She has to be awake for the security
There’s no one quite as scary as a sleepy Krissy
She doesn’t just growl she is pretty savage too
And when questioned by them who know what she will do
If they ask her did you pack this bag by yourself
Likely she'd reply, 'No I had help from a stupid elf'

Early on Friday morning early to be sure
Krissy will give me trouble I’ve seen it all before
She isn’t a morning person, no not at all
I only hope that she stays awake for our flight call
I pray not like the last time when she fell asleep
I could not wake her up or hear a single peep
We nearly missed our flight and all Krissy had to say
Was, ‘Mum I’m dying here, we’ll go another day

Early Friday morning we’re off to catch the plane
I wonder if we’ll make it or will I go insane
I know you think I’m lying about dear Krissy
Well, just you wait my fine friends each one of you will see
A sight that’s likely to give you all a fright
An early morning Krissy is not a pretty sight
She isn’t very happy, a groaning growling pain
By 12 o’clock she’s happy and smiling once again

I do love Krissy except early in the morn
She’s been a morning misog since the day she was born

Marsha

This will be the last poem I’ll be posting for a little while and I’m posting it because I can. And Krissy can’t retaliate because she’s already asleep, as I will be. Bye for now my darling friends have fun, and this is supposed to make you smile, so smile

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

LOL! Krissy sounds like a real bear in the mornings! You realize, Mushy, that you have armed me with information that compels me to bang on her door with pot and spoon each morning just to watch her perform. Should be fun..

Florida is waiting.....

I am getting so excited about meeting everyone, Marsha...
I don't do mornings either,  but at least we're driving so I won't have to worry about getting up really early...

What i wouldn't give to join y'all.  You know we would have a rip-roaring time.

I have to understand only too full well, what living with a NON-morning person is like.  Absurdly told in fact, your poem not only made me laugh out loud, but made me sigh out loud remembering all the mornings i woke up my boys and put on my clown suit (so to speak) just to make them laugh.....

Give Krissy a warm hug for me, Maaaaasha,
one for yourself
and have a great time!

But once poor sleepy Krissy is at last aboard the plane
It's then her mother's phobias drive her quite insane!
Reluctant to ruin her fingernails, all pretty as could be
A nervous Marsha reaches over and nibbles on Krissy's!

ROFL... I love this, Marsha!

Note to self: Lock up every pot, pan, and spoon before bedtime. Keep out one carving knife and carry it constantly, just in case Bal has other vicious ideas up his sleeve. LOL

What a wonderful time you will all have ... and Krissy only has to miss the first four hours of every day

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

I love this one. I'm so afraid I won't wake up in time next Friday to get to the terminal. The plane leaves at 5:45 am, and it's 45 miles away. I'm seriously considering not going to bed at all.
