My niece should be three weeks old right now I should be going to my sister's house every day ....Marveling at the mystery of her birth.... Ooohing and Aaahing over how fast she's growing And just how tiny she is My niece should be sleeping right now My sister should be laying down right beside her Lost in the sweet dreams of motherhood I shouldn't be feeling this pang of envy Whenever my 18 mth old niece say my name And be jealous of my sister-in-law Who has three beatiful kids Or feel guilty when I feel my baby move inside of me Knowing the saddest thing is what was supposed to be. |
