Triskaidekaphobic, Who Me ?
~*Marge Tindal*~

Do not let it be said
that I have a fear to stay abed
Just because the day numbers 13
Silliest thing I've ever seen~

Triskaidekaphobia, I cannot condone
For I only fear that which is unknown
Just in case you happen to wonder
13 is my LUCKY number !

The letter 'M' is special
so I've only my mother to blame ...
The thirteenth letter of the alphabet
always begins my name~

So morbid fear of the number 13
no longer comes into play
No matter what the calendar says
it's still my favorite day !

Word of the Day for Friday September 13, 2002 -
www.dictionary.com

triskaidekaphobia \tris-ky-dek-uh-FOH-bee-uh\, noun

a morbid fear of the number 13 or the date Friday the 13th

--triskaidekaphobic, adjective and noun
-- triskaidekaphobe, noun

Oh gosh it totally slipped my mind that today was Friday the 13th its been such a bright and wonderful day!! I'm smiling so that must mean something..and methinks its only a number and only a day of the week cute take on the silly superstition..tho I can be quite stupidstitious myself..lol no harm meant *goes back to being silly today*

Now did you watch the same morning news show as I did...?  LOL...So this is the second time in my life, all in the same day, where I got to trip my tongue around this word....

Thanks, Marge!  Too cute!

Well, my dear, dear Marge! This poem could not have appeared at a better time for me!
I knew there was a word for this #13 phobia but I didn't know what it was. Thank you!

One year ago today, I had a severe fall. I dislocated my shoulder, twisted my pelvis, ripped the nail right off of my great toe and later lost two others, I sprained my back and both of my wrists, popped my knee out...the list goes on! I've been in intensive therapy three times per week for the past year. Glad to say I'm 'almost' back to normal---may still have to have two surgeries, but I'm fighting hard with exercise to avoid them.

You should have seen me---a sacral belt, knee brace....what a flipping site!----Very hard to bare for a rather vain, earthy angel!

Oh, I must get away from my woes long enough to say---the poem was great and I now know the word that describes the phobia thatI suffer from.

Triskaidekaphobic ----I sure am!--and now you know why!

ROTFL. Thatwordisamouthful!
Enjoyed this fun, poking at fear of the 13th. It's one of my favorite days.
But then, I am mental.

Seems I never looked at the date on the newspaper or a calendar today. Who knew?

And I still cannot pronounce this very big word!

13th letter must also be for Marti!!

Hugs....

And here I was, trembling in fear and uncertainty all day. Thank goodness I read this so now I can relax!

Marge:  Well you certainly give the lie to bad luck on Friday the 13th. If 13 is your lucky number, I think it should be a holiday
whenever it appears on the calendar!

Thank you for the tongue twister and the
reminder of what today is....I had forgotten
completely until I looked at my calendar at
work....

It has a different meaning to me...my get
lucky day....sad to say it only happens
two or three times a year..at best...

Thanx for the diction lesson Marge....

I love the number 13, too, cause I like money! Consider these facts of the one-dollar bill...........

There are...

13 steps on the Pyramid
13 letters in the Latin above
13 letters in "E Pluribus Unum
13 stars above the Eagle
13 bars on that shield
13 leaves on the olive branch
13 fruits
13 arrows

Lotsa 13's on that buck!

Add that to the fact that there are..

13 original colonies
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence
13 stripes on our flag

Why, it's unpatriotic not not like the number 13!

Cute poem Marge. What I thought was funny was that when I clicked on this poem to read it it had....14 replies....SOMEONE didn't want it to have 13! Just kidding.

Good one Marge!

I missed this on the first go 'round.

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.
