This Text of Masks We were all women tossed about in a circle, some on chairs and some with dare to flay upon the carpet, less vulnerable perhaps with touch of floor and place that seemed much closer to the door. Each chose a mask to wear, like lace across a table it made us bare, with laugh and tears made from a mold and anger whispered with a scream, oh, the cold was bold. We were women wearing masks that day, to say for us the touch too much had turned, the innocent to fall, this text of masks recalls the loss of play. And so we took these masks like truth in spoon and filled the plastic mouth with it then spit it out into the room. [This message has been edited by Martie (09-08-2002 10:55 AM).] |

A mask that covered tears that did hide waking fears A mask of veil in innocence of what is lost in true sense A mask worn by one and all to a moment scared, not a ball. A mask which revealed that day was not for fun, nor for play. Beautifully done dear one... I think you have expressed the feel well... I must go read what the specific challenge was, but it is quite a poem even not knowing the exact request. Do wonder if you meant "woman" or perhaps "women." I can see reasons for either, but am curious. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

  YAY!!! Oh Martie, this is absolutely beautiful, I LOVE IT, to dispose of ones mask and reveal the true colors and eyeshadowed thoughts beneath is a wonderful fresh feeling! Mike...thanks for such an interesting phrase to work with. Midnite...thanks for that wonderful S word. Kethry...Thank you...wish I could have made the peal more real. Group therepy often strips off masks with feel. Lady...I wore the mask of tears...perhaps you heard me crying. Eric...thank you, my friend. Sy--You're quite a guy! Thank you, thank you for pointing this out to me, my sweet Marite.  After yet another long day yesterday, I was just sitting here, thinking of all the different roles I have played in life and I wondered which "mask" was really me... I think it's this one, here at Pip. I keep saying I never meant to stay, but I found this place where I could just be myself, yanno? Now if I can only fuse the personalities...  I love you muchly Lady Grace. |
