Too Near A plane just flew over shattering the silence of this morning, shattering something in me, too. I don’t know why it seemed so odd, so out of place, today, this day, this morning. It was as if its intent was to shatter my mourning. I know we need to work; I know we need to celebrate living, celebrate the lives that numbered 3000. Yet, shattering the quiet almost struck fear, it was too near ©Sept 11, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Virginia...the same thing just happened here with me!! They are probably having memorial services on the waterfront in Detroit...just a stones throw from me here in Windsor, Canada...and that's why I heard the planes...but for a brief moment the same fear went through me again... ~Hugging you tighter today, Nancy~ ~ Time has cast a spell on you |

I found myself last night thinking the "orange alert" for today was a strange thing to put into action. It seems so unlikely, to me, that the terrorists would pick the anniversary date, when everyone would automatically be ever alert and on edge. It seemed more likely they'd wait until the 12th, after we'd relaxed, gone to bed, took our eyes away. Then this morning, when the plane flew over, it seemed wrong for someone to be in the skies. I live near an army base that was almost totally closed down until operations were underway building an incinerator. Then, last year, a flood of manpower and artillery arrived, blockades put in place, everyone that worked there searched each day, including their vehicles. Everyone had to be a suspect.Maybe that's why it didn't seem any planes should fly here, today. Too near ancient ammunitions. Too near. At least the plance was heading east, away from the base. Thanks for the hug, Nancy, a tight one back at you, too. God bless your day. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

So near, yet so far away, but then again--so near---for with your words you brought it closer. Earth Angel |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Virginia, the same instance happened here, I saw a plane going by right near Folsom Field and it seemed so low I felt that great fear and it deeply ached me, and the sounds of helicopters too broadcasting news also scared me! (wipes tears) My thoughts go out to all the victims families, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton (God Bless America) "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

dear VAS, this reminded me of the eerie silence during the days after the attack last year, when there were no planes in the sky. in that sense, the sound of jet engines can be a comfort. Annika:- "Oh, do not ask, 'What is it?' |

VAS, I agree....I found myself watching the sky, listening for the planes....paying a lot of attention to those that did fly overhead... And taking a flight to Hawaii about two months after the attack was somewhat nerve wracking at times....I found myself looking at other passengers...wondering if any of them were.... or would be... |
