Answering Serenity's challenge:
"A drowning man is not troubled by rain."
Persian Proverb

A drowning man
is not troubled by rain.
He has nothing to lose,
nothing to gain.
He cares not about pain.
suffering troubles him not.
Perhaps his soul
has already fought
too many battles,
his heart carried
too many chattels,
His point of view
is now moot.
So what if it rains?
His soul has already
been washed away.

A challenge well met, Kacy

Certainly is a challenge well met...the last line is frightfully sad sounding, though.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Interloper, muchos gracias amigo.

Virginia, yes, it is very sad when someone gives up, and is not able to quench a thirst from a healing rain.

Just cruisin' aroun', found this.

"So what if it rains?
His soul has already
been washed away"

Must indeed, have been a weary soul.

A good pensive penning, Kacy.

~Ed

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

is one whose words
were just read
but the reader
already knew before reading

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kacy, this is so very sad, sweet friend, you discuss the proverb so very much as my heart goes out to all who feel their hearts washed away! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

You rose to the occasion! Well done!

P.S. Your reply to VAS, is worthy of repeating:

"It is very sad when someone gives up, and is not able to quench a thirst from a healing rain."----that was a very poetic response!

Duncan, thanks for the warning. You are right, I just got about 10, all at once this morning!

Noah, thank you neighbor.

Linda, thanks, also for the quenching thirst comment. Maybe the start of another poem?

Sigh, thanks, good soul.

oddly enough, it started to rain here just as I clicked on your poem (I kid you not)

And you have added so much depth to this, thank you so much (didn't think anyone got inspired by this'n) but now I know it was not a waste of time, because I got to read THIS...

Thank you much, lovely lady, for this.
