I can smell autumn in the air
It is a unique smell

The wind whips up
It starts to get cooler
And the leaves start to change colors

Some animals are getting ready
For the winter
For the winter hibernation
When they can't eat
Or drink
Just sleep

Autumn is a beautiful
Time of year
And always will be

Cold hands means a warm heart

I have to say, autumn is my favorite time of year. There is nothing like watching the leaves change into brilliant colors. Wonderful write!

I agree, autumn is the best! HAHA, I think I said the same thing about winter last year in Alaska. I must have been captured by an Aurora.

I like all the seasons except Winter... I'm weak against water and ice. But a bit of rain won't kill me.

My favorite time also...
I've been real busy, stuffing those acorns into my cheek pouches and hiding them in my little underground burrow...

I love the colors of autumn...

I can feel the wind changing direction and the sun moving higher in the sky...but it still looks like summer to me...for just a while longer! Neat poem Julie~~the anticipation of fall conjures up so much!!

What you have shown here, is that autumn truly is "a beautiful time of year."

This was lovely.

And yes, there is a unique smell in the air----and I love it!---it's "earthy" !
