On the steps of Easons On the steps of Easons I am waiting, far from pavement tribes grating in shopping shoes. On the steps of Easons I am waiting, pressed against the glass, singing my urban blues. On the steps of Easons I am waiting, out pedestrian paranoia, quietly questioning where are you? ============================================= Poetry reading in Bewleys Emptied from my hands, I entrust to you the Passover, Confessional conversation is lost to the earls of my black tea, its vapours trailing to a fireside slumber. Abandoned, the cup upon the table, you read my exorcisms, a thousand thoughts drifting, in flames, your hot chocolate marshmallows melt away. Smiling you return my thoughts, words at a loss, even the cutlery of our cosy neighbours raise barely a whisper. We sit savouring with breathless reverence, this moment's silence. Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you. - Friedrich W. Nietzsche |

Brian! You wowed me with these two. Both filled with phrases too numerous for me to comment on. On the steps of Easons I am waiting, far from pavement tribes grating in shopping shoes. ~ ~ ~ Emptied from my hands, I entrust to you the Passover, Confessional conversation is lost to the earls of my black tea, its vapours trailing to a fireside slumber. These images screamed out at me. I loved them. Great write!! [This message has been edited by WhiteRose (09-06-2002 07:24 PM).] |

You do this. You take me there with you, you have me breathe in the vapors of the tea, and you leave me, as you leave a good book, with a promise of return.... |

WhiteRose, you have wowed me with your reply, you are too kind. Thank you kindly for reading. Martie, wooow!! nah I am just a poet, I reluctantly take the compliment of "fantastic" lol. This merely "fantastic poet thanks you, a truly "fantastic" poet. Lyra, Thank you. Karliea, you are welcome over for a cuppa any time. The kettle is always on the boil. Thank you for your kind words. May I join you for a cup...they DO serve me raspberry tea there, right??? Good to see you back in the blue Bri. mothyme In the space between now and then |
