Evil Doesn’t Care

I was there watching that tragic day
My mind screaming I don’t know what to say
Tears streamed down my heart and my soul cried
The day that innocence burned and faith died
No sign of remorse from those to blame
And now our lives will never be the same
Truth was ripped apart and pain laid bare
The day we learned that evil doesn’t care

I was there as the fire rained all around
There touching souls bleeding on the ground
Breathing in the smoke and choking on dust
Not understanding the breaking of trust
Lives by the thousand lost in this way
Hearts broken by pain with nothing to say
How could this happen I begged the air
The response came back evil doesn’t care

I was there sobbing ‘No’ as the walls fell
Helpless to shut out the sight of hell
My spirit cried in the air thick with pain
Hoping I’d never see this again
Forever I’ll hear the screams in my ears
Always my heart shall feel the sting of tears
My soul cries saying this can’t be fair
I hear echoes that evil doesn’t care

Freedom costs its a price, a price we all share
And we will pay it because we all do care

Marsha

My friends my family I wrote this because I do care, when you are cut I bleed, when you cry I feel the tears on my face, and when you are threatened and attacked I perceive the threat to myself. England may be a small and insignificant little place these days. But I do know that the majority of my fellow countrymen and women feel your pain, we empathise and will stand shoulder to shoulder with you until this thing is totally over. God bless you each and every one. Heart hugs to you all at this trying time.

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

MarshaLove~
You already know how touching I think this is~

Friends~
The other evening MarshaLove called me ...
when she read this poem to me ... my eyes filled with tears and I let them spill~

If you could only hear the tenderness in her voice as she reads ... she is enchanting~

This poem is straight from the heart of one of the dearest friends the USA could hope to have from abroad~

I am moved ....~

MarshaDarling~
Thank you for the 'touch'~
Love and more hugs than you could possibly imagine~

This is so powerful, Marsha...
I can tell that it came straight from your heart.  It made me cry and tremble to read it.
Its so hard to believe that its been a whole year.

Some day I may hear the tenderness of the
voice behind the tenderness written within
this poem which well describes our feelings.

Thanx my friend from across the pond.  You
are a gem treasured by us all...

Marsha, thank you for this poem.  As a student of history i know that among countries, there are no two greater friends than Britain and America.

Thank you for the wonderful thought and equally wonderful piece.

I once thought the sky and sea were free to all ... that all changed on that fateful day

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Marsha, this was so tender and so full of genuine love. I have several close friends from England and they all have told me the same, we were devastated for America on that horrible day. Thank you so much for your love and for your beautiful words in this poem.
Hugs,
Jules

Oh thank you Marsha. It doesn't matter where you live, it is what lives in your heart that makes all the difference. I know that our tradgedy affected people all across the world and not just in the USA. You are right, "Evil doesn't care", but there is hope for us all...because people like you still exist in this crazy world. Love will win this battle. Thanks again for your beautiful write..
Peace,love, light and happiness

Hello Marsha

I relived every moment of pain through your amazing and very real words.  As always your words spoke volumes and your kind and loving heart showed its true colors yet again.  We feel the same here in Australia, 'tho we are far in distance we were right there as our hearts embraced the rest of the world who looked on in horror at the events of that day.

Take care......Sue

Marsha, this is quite, quite lovely. About something so ugly, I don't know how you do it. Your rhythm and your flow and your rhyme are so well done, they move the poem along smoothly. The repetition of 'evil doesn't care' is powerful as well as true. The ending is wonderful.  And if you don't know how much all of America appreciates the support of England, let me tell you, we do!

I read this several days ago, but couldn't comment at that time... and I still find myself lacking words. This is magnificent work, Marsha... and greatly appreciated.
