Tell me Why

By strains of a song
           Of why I love you
Wrapped in warm memories
           Tell me why it’s true
Why snapped beans
           And Sunday comics
Are recollections fond
           And held in sigh
Tell me why…

Why doesn’t air disappear
           When a vacuum is in motion?
Why doesn’t sand just leave
           And fall back into the ocean?
Why is up so far
           And down so close?
Why did God create stars,
           Was it for prose?
Why are slant rhymes
           Such a mystery?
Why do bad things
           Come in threes?

Can you tell me why
           I still feel your touch?
Why I still miss you
           So very much?
Why I hear
           Upon the breeze
The softest word,
           Sounds like a please?
Why a heart can
           Reach in strain…
Why this ache
           Is a soft refrain?

And children are held
           By a magic bubble
Their whys a mystery
            But worth the trouble
To see the glint
            In eyes of blue
When explaining my reasons
            Of why I love you.

That's a lot of questions but they're all beautifully phrased to stimulate the reader's imagination and the point of the poem brings it to a conclusion very nicely....This is very nicely done!

OK, give me about an hour....I am trying to
compose a number of reasons why...after all,
I should have a tremendous arsenal of them,
having a 9 year old in the house with me...

This is deep, but a treasure...thanks for it!
