Clipped and curled and tucked to hang there from your ear in all the right places with all the soft voices of touch and scent and calm. A sandstone hill softened by sun. A beach of waves without salt. Snow in flakes upon the pines, the gentle sigh of wind and rain. And even within storm, the clouds do not obscure their glow tumbled down to roll the street, to walk on home alone. This voice of women. I'm hanging to the phone. Thanks, Julie. It's because, at this *lovely* job of writing and reporting on god-forsaken carpet and resilient styles, I need to contact many, many PR firms. Luckily, the ones who have spoken to me today have mostly been female ... it's like a little gift over the phone. What's my problem? I've gone mush. Mike |

This voice of a man, gentle, understanding, never demanding, is a welcome sound in an often harshly tuned world. Thanks. |

I love the sensitivity with which you write, Mr.Squirrel... Have you ever tried to guess what someone looked like, if you only knew their voice over the phone? I think its a fascinating exercize and every time I talk on the phone to someone I've never met before... I try to conjure up their image... I have been told that I sound like a tall blond... LOL but not kidding... from this 5'1" brunette. ~ telephoney hugs Lyra |

Oh, you must realize dear Mikey, I do love to see this "mush" side of you once in awhile! Madam Chipmunk's reply, reflects my response to this piece as well. I also do the exercise she described (it's alot easier than my exercising in the gym!) I fool a lot of people with my very young voice---I am frequently being asked, "May I speak to your mother?"---heck, I am a mother! ---have been for years, and years---hey, now that makes me sound even older than I am! P.S. I'm sure what you're expressing in this poem, is felt by those who are on the other end of the line. Linda |

(smiles) Oh Michael, this is beautiful, I know this special feeling too when you hear a woman's voice and it truly brings a smile to my face too! (sigh) This is marvelous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
