I moved. shifting boxes of memories like delicate crystalware from one place to another how often we do this stay over for a period and then move along to another place almost as if we desert the place we lived in as if forsaking the underprivileged and to add insult to injury we pull out all our belongings however tiny they might be those little chronicles of history and packets of opportunities from another time I even moved the thin film of dust from the shelves! (and my final act was to spray a room-freshener all over the place as if making the past seemingly artificial) selfishly I moved. |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sudhir, I too don't understand why we always move on sometimes, though the past bears much importance that motivates us later on and I suppose there's nothing artificial about it, just left like a ghost town to disappear itself. (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Well done. Enjoyed. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

Sudhir I haven't moved for such a long time that I don't know this feeling. I enjoyed the poem, none the less. |

Having recently moved, I enjoyed this perspective. Yes, it sometimes feels like an abandonment. But sometimes we carry along too much baggage to the next place, things that are best left 'in the dust.' Thanks Sudhir, I enjoyed the read. |

Hey Sudhir...It's been a long time since I've moved, but I do remember the last time I moved back in 93 and I didnt think of it how you wrote it m'friend, I guess memories etc, didn't mean much to me in those days. I really enjoyed your write Maree |

Sudhir~ I can so relate ... 'and to add insult to injury we pull out all our belongings however tiny they might be those little chronicles of history and packets of opportunities from another time I even moved the thin film of dust from the shelves!' And I'm still packed in tiny boxes of me ... EVERYWHERE~ Someday 'soon' ... I'll get around to unpacking~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Ahh Sudhir, moving...I know what that means. Once we moved 4 times in 6 years. I still have some boxes in the barn, unpacked and yet I live in this house almost 21 years LOL Moving is starting all over again and sometimes one has just to do it. Beautiful poem my friend, Titia Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

Sudhir: I loved this and giggled when I read the part about the thin layer of dust. This past weekend, we helped my son move from one college dorm room to another. Talk about dust!!! I don't think he cleaned for a whole year! Spraying would never have helped his dorm room I can assure you. Hugs, Marti |

Fantastic, Sudhir, again! Such deep thoughts around the act of moving, something I hate to do. I'm glad you did, though, as I think this is a great piece of poetry and I love this stanza and all the stuff between its lines: (and my final act was to spray a room-freshener all over the place as if making the past seemingly artificial) Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

The word pictures you paint are splendid, as usual Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

Thank you all my dear friends... Moving is a whole process, as we all have noticed... I moved for 8 times in India since 1989 in 9 years before coming to Belgium in 1999 and ever since that I have moved 4 times.... The last 2 weeks I couldn't visit this home due to the move... and I am sure I missed some great poetry... Regards to all, Sudhir [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (09-04-2002 04:58 AM).] |
