Purple red green yellow Colourful dots in blue skies Just balloons free From the grasp of little hands Children's screams echo through the grounds Some cry for their losses Others weep for just one chance To hold on to something so precious I think LOVE is like a balloon Colourful and exciting Yet there is always a fear It might burst and cause pain Holding on for so long You will feel tired soon Yet release the string and You will lose it forever Some hold on too tight but That is not the way The beauty lies in its freedom To sway in the wind There are others holding too long Doing all to hold it close Yet life will soon seep out All efforts go to waste Some get a chance to hold it Yet they know not how to treasure it Dangling it around their little finger The string soon loosens itself And there are those who Walk around the fair looking For just one balloon One balloon that is up for grabs A balloon for each person Love for all It does not seem too hard Just handle it with care! _,,,^.^,,,_ |

Some are lucky enough to find that perfect balloon ... well rounded, flexible, not to grounded yet irresistable! Guess love can be full of hot air ... Good write! |

Hi Mon Cherie, It is good to hear from you again. I am allergic to everyday balloons, so does that mean that when I find Mr. Right he will be the most perfect mylar balloon out there? Mylar balloons are usually silver, will he have money as well? Seriously I thought your poem was very beautiful, and I'm glad that I had the cance to read such a beauty. Dawn |

Thank you everyone! Really delighted to see so many comments for my poetry. hehe. I was at a roadshow promoting my company's products when this came to my mind. Lotsa balloons around, and plenty more stuck on the canvas ceiling. I was really tired then, and pretty depressed, but I was glad to churn out something that bonders on truth and hope. hehe. _,,,^.^,,,_ |

Nice work, Mon Cherie...dig the analogy and the imagery here...liked these lines muchly The beauty lies in its freedom To sway in the wind but as you said in your poem, balloons deflate gradually...how do you depict everlasting love via balloons then? a thought-provoking read much enjoyed..i think i am that sort of person who waits for the balloon to be served to me..heehee |
