There, within a dash of dawn-- lightning spark a kindling's yawn... Here again, I give my all lightning sparks a shivered spawn... trembling legs in need of stealth-- resemblence of shadows met in the dark lights lit in stream-- in the sparkling tones of scream A struggle to stand in regret A struggle to still dream, of yet... I know that it sounds ludicrous. I still possess some innocence. I am still...a little girl, dancing in a skirt of twirl. trembling legs in need of stealth assembly of a swan lake's hell... I wait for tune bemoaning luck-- and pray for ballet of the duck. [This message has been edited by serenity (06-23-2002 08:36 AM).] |

Having just gone to my grandaughter's ballet recital last night, this comes to me with a great sigh of appreciation. I sat and watched all of the hard work which was put into that show, and how all of the girls...from age 5 to 21 or so, had great big actress smiles on their faces... but my grandaughter...in the center of it all, was dancing with her face in a cynical look. She wants to take a break from ballet next year...she's been doing it since age 5. I loved the poem... ~ hugs of grace Lyra |

PRICELESS title! Simply marvelous. I'm in the middle of what is either my mid-life crisis (my family has an average mortality of about 40 on my mother's side, which is scary) or second childhood, so I get these times when I suddenly realize I'm still a kid, and these moments are very highly disturbing and tend to make already confusing situations much worse. Feel my angsty reachiness! |

what is this quackery i hear? you're doing pirroettes? you leap your words so very clear with longing and regrets... and yet i know serenity is named for you, my friend, since it is your identity to find your peace and mend your inner soul with beauty since the duckling is a swan who dances, not for duty but for joy at rise of dawn! |

(smiles) Oh Karen, I love this, sweet friend, this is wonderful, I believe ballet is one of the most graceful arts of all and to master with it and become one with it is a huge accomplishment! (big hugggsssssss) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! This was inspired by a line from a rather forgettable movie (so forgettable that I forgot the title! ) but I never forgot the line spoken by the character portrayed by Debra Winger: "I got the grace of a DUCK." I was reminded it of it again, as I was forced into attending a formal dance...sigh...you can paint me up as a swan? But sigh, I'm still gonna waddle! *chuckle* Thanks all! Yer wonderful. |
