He is a sad man. See it in his eyes, The lines of his face That weariness And bitterness Have creased. To see, one time Those corners Turn upward, The shoulders squared, Refusing to look Away from life And the treasures there! When we are gone, As we all will be, Certainly, What will we look Back upon? He sees the puddles Without reflections Of those beams From the midnight sky. The fishbone drift Of gentle clouds Must surely pass Him by. How can it be The caress of the breeze Misses his lovelorn Face? Why is it So difficult To grow, with so Much space? A sad man. Just once, to melt The frosted heart. A parley of ease, Just one half-smile, Free of satire And spikes. |

A good lesson, Furie..speak kindly to all, lest one day they speak harshly to you... |

Sad men - wafting shadows of grey. How well you have portrayed this. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

DonFurr, Kethry,Sunshine, Daniel van Vliet and Ethome: Thank you for reading my poem and providing your comments, which are valuable to me. It seems so long ago that I posted this that I was surprised to see it on a relatively "initial" page. I think the sight of a sad man is one of the most heartbreaking sights that can be seen. |
