Pryed from an idol's eye passed in generations by and by landed in wealthy American hands reset...it's beauty still stands it is a fraction of its original size said to have violet hues..steel blue prize due to traces of boron detected possess it..would some have regretted? Evelyn Walsh kept it in spite of the stories her Empire wore away as did past glories the stone was kept, yet tragedy struck her husband lost his company daughter died mysteriously bad luck? The stone is now in a famous museum a fraction of what the original had been pryed from an idol's eye passed onto unwary gents by and by... Hello Nancy mind you McLean had three stones on her pendant one of which carried her name, but I don't recall the Star of India there... I should have been clearer in my first reply Balladeer is right..good try Nancy |
