F.M.P.'s

Shouldered out of the way
Like a buffet table hustler
they drew a line from my eyes
to the object of my desire
putting their hands on something I had longed for
Turning it in the light, this way and that
unboxing hidden treasures, long ago sealed

I could not pass
greed, their greed, like always, my heart sighed,
stood in my way
At long last, when they saw my attention drawn elsewhere
they carelessly flung the object away
like a to-the-filter-smoked-butt
rushing to beat me to the next punch

Once more bitten, twice, a little shyer
by the Flea Market Piranha's

Hello Jeff

I can relate to this scene with such an interesting array of people who'll stop at nothing to bag a bargain.  Some of them are like vultures circling the kill.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I really liked this.

Take care.....Sue

Jeff

That looks like southern California...and I'm sure I have been there...had to stop though,...too much stuff is too much, ya know.  Enjoyed this look at a sort of addiction and sometimes not very nice scene.

BRAVO!!! Oh Jeff, that is the bad thing about flea markets, while they are not trendy like Gap or Old Navy or that Spencers stuff, there is always someone fighting for an antique there and it can be so stressful! (sigh) This is wonderfully said, sweet friend, you are always so honest with your excellent words, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ohhhhhhhhhhh.......I do know the meaning of this for sure.  I am one of those that can't resist the lure of one, but when all is said and done, (through many insults of my being naive in the younger years), I now can leave one without feeling like I was molested. LOL  Wonderful write.  Loved the perspective.

It sounds like garage sale time, Jeff...
Beautifully expressed with lovey imagery.

Shout out to Sue:  I like your point of view on the topic. Agreed!  vultures when the stew is hot.  Soup of the Day flavor, and they all crave it.

Mart:  Hey!  So you are not a So-Cal, but instead a No-Cal gal?  Accumulation of 'things' might be the order of the day there.  Me? I collect memories.  *s*

Thankx you two!

Noah, your sense of humor cracks me up.  Ever thought about starting your own chain store.
Perhaps you could call it:

Noah Zark, Inc

errrrrrr....i better get, while the getting is good ~ducking all the way~

Mark B:  in a horder sense of way, its the discovery of some treasure one can't live without.  Of course, that precludes the necessity to be rude.... Greed, covetting, ah, but it's a coal black face we wear when we sin...

Munk-Ster, Daughter of Frank-Ster:
i ONLY wish!  Been trying to get this goofy garage sale off the ground for nigh onto a month, now!  What gives what that?  Parting is such sweet sorrow....until somebody shoves a fistful of green into your palm for your closet dusters.

Have a great day tomorrow, y'all!
and thank you for your smiles and replies!
jeff
