To Dust

A slice of sunlight pierced the stillness of the morning air
And highlighted the particles of dust that floated there
They mesmerized my waking eyes, still caught up in a dream
And there I lay just gazing at the dust within a beam

From dust I came and to that very dust I will return
Before I go I still have many lessons to be learned
But please, dear God, when I am gone, attend to every one
But put my little bits of dust within a beam of sun

I suspect this may well be the 'poetry crowning' of my day~
Simplistically lovely ... so earnestly written~
Beautiful dear lady ... just beautiful~

Liz...
this is just so...  words fail me here, so I will just have to say that Marge said it best
"simplistically lovely" and "earnestly written"

And I shall be the speckle
that is floating by your side
together for eternity,
in dust two friends reside.

I pass this way but once so I hope to meet you.

Liz

Sometimes the simple act of looking
brings forth the most remarkable poetry
about a simple thing usually taken for granted.  You have done that.

(sigh) Yes, continue to live and spread your love to everyone and when that day comes it will happen, for your poetry will always live in and the magic will guide all your children and all your loved ones forever! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

An exercise I've often done myself. Okay, does that say I don't dust often enough?

This is a lovely poem. I enjoyed the read and the picture it placed within my mind.

In truth, what defines us is our poetry.

What a magnificent and elegant piece of writing. Bravo, Bravo! I have no words to express how much I loved this.

Hugs, Marti
