A molecule of a tear drop Laying dormant for a baptismal wish To instill the renewal of gentile feelings In the inner faith of others The seed to germinate the enlightenment Upon the respect of humanity A molecule of a sweat drop Preserved in the work of accomplishment The result of a masterpiece of sacrifice That built a temple of contemplation For the minds to merge in after thoughts In the contribution to mankind’s awareness A molecule of a blood drop So precious of gold, that it rejuvenates Pumping up the heart in self respect Straining against gravity to raise the soul The hydraulic fluid to power the world In the force to effect mortality A molecule of a water drop Our universal need to quench our thirst Within our parched souls Sending out the moisture within us To evaporate into other minds Into the fragility of uniqueness A mixing bowl of chemical interaction The essence of civilization The melting pot that stirs history To carry beyond ones existence We are the teacher to tomorrow’s words The evaporation of future thought In the liquidity of ever changing poets Singers that will electrify the worlds Writers that will absorb us, changing minds Painters that will excite the senses to go beyond Musicians that elevate us into the heavens Yes we are the artists with the heritage To make the difference in inspire change D.Lester Young (08/11/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |
