Shades of Scarlet The path is long Days come and go Minutes creep ever slowly by Their tick-tock madness taunts my lonely heart Despair knocks upon the thorn clad gate of my garden Planting roses in shades of scarlet Pricks from the thorns remind me that pain is momentary Love is forever Faith I paint your name in every star filled night Gather the clouds to envelope your body Whisper your name in angel's ears Write love letters in the sands of this painful time Dare the tides to wash away the symbol of my sand-castle dreams Send you kisses in the wind Pray you feel me in your sweet slumber Long to see the reflection of our love in your eyes The Earth is alive and full of fury Tiny raindrops kiss my lips with sugar coated bliss Lightning warns me to step out of the fury of this night Storms pass Beauty lives forever in the heart of those who thirst to taste tomorrow Yearn The wait is an eternity I long to feel your touch A raging flame that never dies Tears are my release I ache for you I weep in silence You reply in the sweet solitude of my longing I swear I feel you You make love to me in the early break of morn You are the sweet mist that awakens my soul Still warmed by the heat of our passion I face another day without the one I love Grief begs me to join in the parade of lost hope My body screams to seek shelter in the warmth of your embrace You are the fire in me Burn |
