Footprints of Destiny

piptalk.com/pip/cards/photos/Ocean/Oc1017a.jpg

Following  footprints left on the shore
First two prints then four
That seemed to travel forevermore
Stopping here and there for conversation
Kissing and holding hands as lovers do
So it seemed in my imagination
But who am I to esteem the role of prints
With such clues and hints
And nothing more to resolve what’s hence
But to follow on their steady trajectory
On distant shores of space and time
That might inspire a lore or rhyme
Or some deep discretionary truth
Some ageless wonder filled with youth
And yet I am not one to propagate
Some belief that is not based on facts
But only footprints bare the selfless acts
Of two lovers engaged so it seemed
In a romantic interlude of love redeemed
And so I dreamed
And so I dreamed
While tracing images with pen in hand
Of two hearts inter-linked drawn in the sand
Where footprints merged with bended knees
And rolled in unison into the seas
Of yesteryear and adolescent days
Like a foggy mist or a scattered haze
But still my journey continued on must be
Now looking back at the prints I see
fading in the past the footprints of me.

A heartfull render..the sand and sea are an amazing tapestry of thought. You've written wonderfully of your own.

Bob

This took me to a place in the sand that I hadn't thought of for some time...and I remembered not to forget again.  This was beautiful and touched me.

You have such a special gift of sharing not only tranquil thoughts but a gift of adding the feelings to the images you create in your words.  Very much enjoyed sir and I am left smiling at the wonderful thoughts you leave me with.  God bless

Kethry,

I guess we all have certain prints that remain with us through time.  I am so glad that my poem has left a lasting impression.  Thanks for your comment.

Noah,

...and I love your expounding upon what poems you have read of mine. You have such a deep and wonderful interpretation of each.  I do appreciate you and your tender heart and spirit.

Reg,

I must agree with you.  There is a force of the ocean that truly inspires thought and imagination.  Thank you for your most kind comment.

Sunshine,

Thanks for your welcome to your neck of the woods.  It's wonderful to be appreciated and makes me want to stop on in here more often for certain.

Martie,

Oh, I am so grateful for your comment, because it lets me know that my poety has made a difference in your life.  I'm so thankful to have been the one to take you to that place of thought and imagination my poet friend.

Mark,

Your comments too have blessed me my friend to know that my poetry has taken you to a place of tranquillity and thoughts of wonder.  Just to let you know that you are a blessing to me as well and that I have chosen to include your prose of the Lighthouse as part of my personal web page.  I hope you don't mind, but your poetry has touched my life and inspired me as well and I do appreciate you and your abilities very much.  God bless.
