Between sleeping and waking I dreamt that I had loosed my madness; it's form that of an ostrich bulging eyes, wedge shaped head wanting to escape it's body stretching far above the bulbous bulk, dangerous dinosaur legs kicking off to nowhere at sixty miles per hour. Between sleeping and waking I dreamt that I had dodged death's grip; a turkey vulture whose gaze caused no wince and worn by my smirk took flight. Between sleeping and waking I dreamt that I had flung my past; a belted kingfisher who'd taken too quick the easy catch in hurried hovering in water's shallow. Between sleeping and waking I dreamt that I had launched our Love; it's form the blue rock pigeon so common it's flight nearly went unnoticed but it's absence left me feeling all alone. Between sleeping and waking I dreamt that I had sprung desire; a seizing taloned falcon whose large and focused eyes guide a blunt but hungering beak like a knife. On waking I discovered that the blue rock pigeon was released too quickly fore the falcon flew and that next time I'll be patient till a pure dove comes along. strong images of love and strong analogies. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Fantastic metaphor, and here I was thinking of becoming a tumbling pigeon so wrapped was I in the warp of this... |

Richard "that the blue rock pigeon was released too quickly fore the falcon flew and that next time I'll be patient till a pure dove comes along." Some leasons really hurt to learn. Great poem! |
