I am battling the entire world
its everyone against me
I am left alone to feel abused
hated and dumb
to believe anyone cared
I don't know what to do
i refuse to stay here
but I refuse to go away
I refuse to be locked in your chains
bound and gagged I feel

Another very powerful poem. Keep writing, in the writing we sometimes are released from feelings such as this.

There are a million messages,
in a million bottles,
you just have to know
which one to pull out of the ocean.

This poem captures a sense of helplessness and a fight to keep your own identity... in few words.  Nice.  (I don't know if you want constructive criticism, etc, so let us know.)  :-)

Okay. :-)

I think there are too many "I am"s in there.  If I may be so rude:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am battling the entire world
it's everyone against me
Alone I feel abused
hated and dumb
Led to believe anyone cared
I don't know what to do
I refuse to stay here
but I refuse to go away
I refuse to be locked in your chains
bound and gagged I feel
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But what do I know?
Peace,

You need to talk to other people about this.You could fall into the trap of believing you are the only person in the world who has had these feelings.Trust me you are not alone.The posts at passions are filled with what you describe.

I write poetry so people of all walks of life can relate to it. Not because that necessarily is how I feel. I live a happy life. With an occasional bump in the road but I am still happy.

look within yourself, Kellie...
I think we all hold the keys to what we perceive to be our chains.
I'm so glad it isn't about you, though...

(big hugggssssss) Oh Kellie, keep your chin up, sweet friend, for you have the keys deep in your heart and the first door is always unlocked by loving and believing in yourself! (sigh) My thoughts are with you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kellie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Kellie, you made a very good point.  Sometimes when we become a community, we begin to think that the writer is writing simply from their point of view, and this is not always so.  For example, I sometimes make an attempt to write as a fair and glorious lady...truth be told, I'm a tomboyish klutz.  But I can imagine, and that is what you are doing, and this is good.  We have to remember that a true writer is going to stretch beyond the limits of their own life, look out at others, and write of that.  If we, as writers, can make it seem that much more believable, then we are doing our job.

Suetang is an excellent example of a good writer who can make one feel that she is actually wearing the shoes of the person she is writing of; or has been in an experience that she sees others going through.

If you think that people are going to believe that this is you [if you have written it so convincingly] then a disclaimer down the thread is a good thing to leave behind, such as you did today.

Good job.

Kellie,

You write very well of a feeling that many,
mostly women....have experienced for
generations.....Not allowing the bonds to
hold is certainly the key to freedom and
individuality...
