Mapping your love (with muse)

My eyes
follow, in gentle sway,
a subtle rise and fall
around the curving
byways
of you.

I marvel at every peak,
gasp with each
valley's depth,
barely catching my
breath  on the
plateaus
of you.

Exquisite topography
alters with the
reading
of you.

My fingers
yearn to map
my eyes’ journeys
so that, even in the dark,
exploration
by Braille
might find all the
sighs
of you.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

An exquisite collection of words. Well done.

oooh, I like this rendition, too

it is a smoother read, I think, the feel is a tiny bit different, yet I can't explain it

maybe it's just because I read others between

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Its like the difference between black coffee and coffee with a little bit of sugar in it...
Just a bit sweeter and smoother...
but both are excellent.

Thank you for not saying that my muse soothed the beast

Humph!  Smoother, huh?  Well, you're right

Sweeter?  OK, OK, I give up.  My muse was (and still is, to my knowledge) female.  Whaddayawant, I'm only a guy ...

Bob darling heart this is exceptional, the draft was good the second is spectacular. This is exceptional writing as always your writing is so very very special and I love it utterly. Is that what you mean by topography well you are certainly top darling boy and you can…….. you can fill in the blanks love, otherwise they’ll move me to adult. Let your fingers to the walking *smile

You know when I do eventually get in here I run as fast as my little fingers can carry me to your poem, where in contentment I sit myself down at the feet of the master and gaze in wonder at you. drinking in the sparkling air that is finer, and more rarefied around you than almost anywhere else. What I’m trying to say and taking far too long about it is I love your writing. This is another of your utter delights and I love it utterly utterly utterly.
Love and light
