          Tribulation

Born of a day, another fragmented breath
In the withers of living, a smaller death
    Twenty-four enemies with alias known
Harvested trials from careless seeds sown.

How does one beat fate at its own game
ignoring your voice as you call out its name?
Throw on a second coat, it covers the holes
from tattered defenses now rusted with gold

Throw not, in anger, a gauntlet its way
Cost of loss is more than you can pay
So breathe it away, that deep dark light
Turn your back on its threat
               Go quiet into night.

Jeff

There are some things too big to stand against...if I hear you right.  But, cannot one small arm, if multiplied by many build a fortress?

as for fate...that too can be changed, but you'll never know you did.

You gave me some thinking with this one...Thanks!

Hi Mart!  Evenin!
This was sort of how to handle one of those
runaway head-on days that doesnt seem to
respond to good intentions.  24 hours of
weeds in a garden, so to speak.  Guess I am
saying, unless the conflict calls for it, it will
pass, so let it.  So many of our problems just go
away on their own as time solves the chaos.

Thankx so much for your response.  Very nicely said, Mart.
Until tomorrow

Jeff sometimes things just "are" and we do have to let them pass.  Wonderful writing.

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Jeff...thanks for the resply to my reply...I guess sometimes I think too much...and I do understand, let it be.  The mind can build things far bigger then they ever deserve.  Thanks for the lesson.

Yes, Jeff...as a wise man once said,
we have to pick our battles carefully...
and then go in to win at any cost...
knowing we would give our all...

to preserve our all...

Jeff darling heart and writer of dreamers rhymes your thoughts and words in this are exquisite. Again this is exceptional writing. Never ever do you fail to amaze me with your writing. The power the grace, and the truth of such as this are outstandingly written do I love it I utterly utterly utterly do xxxxxx absolutely perfect poetry.

I keep telling you my dear friend how good a poet you are, and you are you really are. The quality of your writing shines through time after time after time. Naturally when I see your name I KNOW that it is going to be something extremely special, and even though I expect it to be good, time and again you exceed my expectations. Always the truth of the poets thought is there, and always the quality, but it’s not just those that make you an extremely good writer. I don’t know why you shine as a poetic seer, I only know that when your write you commune with my soul. YOU do know I love this one don’t you darling boy? Mmmmm of course you do, my gently subtle nuance of affection obviously came through. One day I’ll do understated you’ll see, maybe when pigs fly but one day….

I love your philosophy here, Jeff...
Maybe I should just forget about my problems and they will just go away...
I think I'll try that one.
