Another Lonely Summer
By: Noah Eaton
8/3/02

When some buds of lilies are too late to bloom
And the pond is reflecting the silence of a powder moon
I can feel the tears and regrets from a boon
Warning me of another lonely summer

I stand beneath the marquee on 38th Street
Down where a demolished amusement park weeps
Reminding me of the lost causes of being a kid happily
Losing a balloon of another lonely summer

Some days I can't please myself
Some days just want to make me cry
Some days end with no semicolon
Some days seem to die
Over and over again...

One thing that somehow makes me smile
Is the sight of someone holding anothers hand for a while
Yet I wish I could have my Joanna here and see her smile
While I'm living another lonely summer

I have no friends I could talk to, I'm just ignored
I can go outside but there's a huge world I can't explore
When your sisters are growing up so fast and hanging out while stuck in a boys dream for that something more
Brings out the worst in another lonely summer...

Some days I can't please myself
Some days just want to make me cry
Some days end with no semicolon
Some days seem to die
Over and over again...

I can smile
I can laugh
I can love myself the best I can
I can run
I can jump
But then you choke when you feel so trapped...

These are the days when people my age should be out
I always make a valiant effort to fit in but they have their doubts
I should be having a happy summer but I have nothing to share it with...

Some days I can't please myself
Some days just want to make me cry
Some days end with no semicolon
Some days seem to die
Some days are meant to be forgotten
Some days I wish I could anew
Some days feel as cold as ice
Some days seem to ache my heart
Over and over again...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

This is beautiful though very sad. We all look for acceptance in life. Even when we get older we are still looking to fit in in this world. Hang in there sweet Noah, though overall acceptance may never come, you'll find your niche.

Noah - you did write your feelings with this sad but beautiful write. Hang in there my friend, the day will come when you and Joanna will be together. By the way, I haven't noticed her posting. Is she OK?

Noah,
While you wait the simmers of August, take heart that September brings cool bright colors upon the world...
Never alone on the blue my friend.
