He Will See

When you learn as a child
You can't even turn to your mother
When something bad happens
And you need her
Where do you go

He didn't come home all night long
At 10:43 am. he still isn't here
I won't go looking for him
Because he could be anywhere
Who knows

On my own I will survive
Lessons are learned very well
Observing all that he does
I can surely tell
He's on a row

The doors are fixed
Where he can't get in
Eventually he will come home
Not telling me where he has been
And, he'll have to go

I stand on my own two feet
There is no one here for me
I will stand my ground
This he will see
My heart has turned cold

But you know that we're always here for you
You stand your ground
And eventually he will see
Your heart may turn cold, but at least you'll be free

It's a bit strange to say due to the circomstances, but I love your poetry Sue.
You're expressing your emotions in a beautiful way, sad as they may be.
