Lyra There is a gift that was bestowed Amidst the stars in heaven’s sea One beam of light that came to earth One life, one soul, so gloriously A life that’s being lived in love A heart laid open on a page That will be cherished well into The sunshine of a future age What gift she bears , what joy she shares What lovely blooms hide in the haze How fine the steady sketch she’s drawn To mark the path of coming days Each day a treasured garden's walk Among the colors waiting there I’ll walk along this friendship path For there is so much joy to share And down the pathway I can see Her poet friends all gathered near Sweet laughter on the road ahead To fill us all with memories dear Oh, Lyra dear, how you have touched My gentle soul with your embrace The name of Lyrashines from stars And warms the measure of my space You walk into adversity You demonstrate your gracious style My admiration falls upon Demeanor of your gentle smile A smile that echoes in our hearts As Passion’s poets gather round All walking with you on a path Of inspiration they have found What joy we’ll share, what songs we’ll sing! What happiness upon life’s stage What beauty in a heart that’s been Laid open on a poet’s page Elizabeth Santos |

Oh Liz.... Thank you so much for this exquisite poem, written with such loving sensitivity. I wrote a poem about a tear last night... and now I have many of them running down my face and smearing my eye makeup.... oh well, its time to take the makeup off, anyway.
