That kid in a candy store sound, of wonderment complete
The same by heart expound, enthralled each quickened beat
From whispers beyond tangible, beyond the seeking eye
As spoken with you tenderly, each pulse the same reply

Adoring you so far from here, in memory quite clear
The same expressions passage of these distances so dear
From once so long ago, to now so far ahead
As spoken with you tenderly, the same to still be said

And yet to be contented in the stillness of forget
The same themes resurrected, the same impatience let
From mystical proportions to silence of accept
As spoken with you tenderly, each thought a promise kept

ThisDiamond - nice to read you again. Many thoughts when I read this.

This sentence is so powerful, great write.

I like the promise kept part it's reminiscent of something - but I can't think exactly what, Oh well it will come to me when I hear it again.

We should all look at new and exciting things like a kid in a candy store. I'm trying to get back to that. I've become jaded. Something I'm working on. Great Poem!

This feels like a sepia colored poem, Kathleen.  When I read it, I can hear the sounds of old memories framed in lace.

Knock knock!   This has a lot of depth to it
Kathy....seems of a relationship remembered,
thinking of those times.....and the feelings
around what was and what was not...

Very well written...
