this is going to hurt like hell...

a beast--in flight--it beats my chest
from within, in shrug of skin--
fluid parchment's talon-cleft--

oh yes, it's gonna hurt like hell...

transformation of the self
bat wings turning ~butterfly!~
drossing gold from silver sigh--

I get dressed to meet myself.

This is going to hurt like hell.

without the pain?

bri? grin...just got an e mail that "got to me" so I'll dedicate this to you as well, for being an admittedly tired moth, an' all!

hugs and many "zzz's"

oops...should explain...I needed a title for this, so my need for title was in the title...groan....

I believe the title works
fighting the beast is most awesome
even when we are butterflies...

never let that pen go dry...

This poem has now gotten this stuck in my head: "It's creeping in again, I know what I really am. No more pretty, purple, peaceful butterfly." Well, at least Butterfly kicked Ricochet Days out. Though just writing that title is threatening to bring it back...

Very expressive, and utterly cool. All in all, good write.

I get dressed to meet myself.

I believe that we all do this to some extent, Karen...especially as we get older.
I love your poem...and also, your new name.
