The crunch of leaves shattering the silence of a morn as gentle rays bathe the tops and crawl toward earth The fluttering of wings startled by footfalls, soaring into the haven of a lofty sanctuary. Smoke lazily rising from a cabin far in the distance, visible only from an eagle’s view. Peace covers the morning haze as life awakes to the climb of a golden sun. To sit, side by side sipping hot fresh coffee to the smell of shoulders white..... A Loon calls to a mate as love rests in the tranquility of morning glow. |

Ah, you have captured this (I felt) in the ending. Love should do just that. You led beautifully with this. My compliments! |

Dang.........ya sure know how to make a word carry a thought a long way. You made sereness turn to heaven's delight without missing a beat and just spilled it all loose without losing a drop of intent. Excellent writing. I am very much impressed. The flow of images transpired to thought was done superbly in every verse. |

a view with the ears of the lake denizens with mournful wail that deceives all except for who it is intended a wonderfully scenic picture, Magnus. *s* Wondering, of course, if you are fortunate enuff to be that close to nature's paintbrush to see this.... tSR |

Magnus, I have to admit that when I saw the name of the poem I expected something a little more dark and sinister than the beautiful picture your words painted here. The imagery you've employed here is spectacular in it's scope. I look forward to reading more of your work. Since I have only recently returned from a long sojourn away from my poetic friends here I have missed a lot of good writing. I will have to look back in "time" to see what other gems you've produced from that that mind. Thanks for the wonderful read. a wonderful analogy of promised love the loons are dedicated to one another, a fine picture of love that is a decision to endure time Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I said earlier that the title here made me think of something entirely different, and I have found something that I wrote to, perhaps, explain what I meant.... Doom by: Jason Daniels Though it comes to soon I await my doom in darkened room's eternal gloom the call of the loon for me.... a welcome boon. (in some "archaic" literature the "call of the loon" was considered an ill-omen. I'm glad to see another meaning applied to it) thanks again, Jason Practiced in the Art of Perception |

Jason, thanx for sharing that poem with me. Yes, I do understand what you mean. But a loon's call...to me is such a pleasant yet longing sound, usually heard during the stillness of day or night. A romantic feeling is what I get from that call, of a mate to a mate....in wait of their return.... |
