Two things: - First, the disclaimer: Before anyone covers their virginal eyes (lol) and scolds me for not putting this in the "adult" forum, this poem is not about phone sex. - Second, I couldn't have written this without the inspiration of DGVarner, fellow Passions poet and proud owner of the Sleep Around Phone (heh heh). This one's for you, Gale!  ---------------------------------------------------- Late at night when I'm all alone and fantasies of her run through my head I call her on the Sleep-Around-Phone that she keeps close by her bed Listening to her every word captivated by every sound Wishing I could see what I just heard So much fun to do it on the sleep around Sleep-Around-Phone It's just an innocent game we play when we flirt and taunt and tease and when she laughs in that oh so sexy way She knows that I'm eager to please She brings me so much happiness and makes me smile when I'm feeling down It's such a thrill; I must confess when we do it on the sleep around Sleep-Around-Phone We keep saying that we should meet and I admit, that sounds so inviting though sleeping around just can't be beat doing it in person sounds a little bit frightening No more plastic hand piece to touch What will I wrap my fingers around? Talking mouth to mouth might be too much If we're not doing it on the sleep around Sleep-Around-Phone |

Jeff, consider me highly disappointed that this isn't about phone sex..  LOL about "what will i wrap my fingers around?" i can so relate to that! i normally carry a ring or some other fancy accessory so that i can play with them whenever i get bored or nervous..heehee  |

faterider, Bridget, Do you always believe those disclaimers? (winks) Seriously though, Bridget, this poem is actually a play on words that works as a double entendre' (and I will admit that I intended it that way). Maybe this will spoil the "magic" for some, but I'll go ahead and explain the inspiration for this poem lest someone else also misinterpret it as sexual - and Faterider, you are right on the money about the "wrap my fingers" line - I'm the same way; when I get nervous, I need to do something with my hands. Glad you caught that! dgvarner has a portable phone that she usually keeps close to her bed. When I call, she will let me know whether or not she is on that phone because her running joke/tease is that we're talking on the "Sleep Around" phone. I've been taunting her for months that I was going to write a poem about what she calls her phone. Initially, when writing this, I intended for it to be a sexual ditty, but upon actually putting the words on paper, I realized that for me, her and I's phone conversations were a way for me to maintain a "safe" distance between us as I have been, ummm.. shall we say "fascinated" with her for some time even though we both lead happy separate lives. This poem was my way of saying "Deep conversations and teasing flirtations are all well and good when done via the telephone but what would happen if we were to actually talk face to face?" The internet and the telephone allows people to interact anonymously but all bets are off when meeting in person. Chemistry is powerful and the eyes don't lie!  She's going to kill me for spilling the beans... lol  Jeff |

Jeff, so that's why gale hasn't been at these blue pages for a while? stop hogging her! my humble opinion..if you feel comfortable about spilling the beans, i think it means that the two of you have reached a certain stage in your friendship/relationship(?)..i really think that the chemisty won't cease when you get to meet each other in person... Lest the gossip fiends of these pages run off at the mouth after viewing this thread, let me emphasize that DGVarner and myself are not, nor have ever been an "item". We are both leading happy separate lives with our respective significant others. This poem is merely an affirmation of my affection for her, cloaked in a flight of fancy and creative exercise.
