In the forest grove of darkened green
We stand in innocence not so obscene
For the day of nature has its call
And we rise to answer one and all

Stretched to sky in worship and in praise
Naked and so free our songs we raise
Feel the wind beneath us in a sigh
Reach our limbs up to the glorious sky

Sighing with the wind we weave and sway
See our limbs are lifted up in pray
In the forest green we slowly grow
Finding  all the innocence we know

On a winter's day we crouch and freeze
Unadorned and naked - we are trees

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

the last line was quite the twist.
i had a whole other portrait painted and ya went and doused it with that line.
which means i got to read it again and paint some more.
this was a fun read.

it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown

Cool read...on a very hot day.  Damn refreshing!

glory

This is lovely, Keth...
At first I thought you were writing about a nudist colony...
but, it makes a much better poem when its about trees...
I really enjoyed it.
