Florida Bound Every day that passes brings it near And soon September will appear Then off to Florida we’ll both go Where fun and games will surely flow There’s no chance that we’ll be bored by this Not while we feel the poet’s kiss Look if you will at the comic view Of me on the plane changing hue I’ll be sitting there praying like mad That the take off won’t be too bad And then I’ll mumble some prayers for me Begging the Lord for my safety The food that is served will make me ill Then I’ll take yet another pill A prayer and a novena or two As I fly through that sky of blue Krissy’s hand will be crushed under mine As she says mum it will be fine I’ll chew her fingernails to the quick And end up being very sick If the plane lands and I’m in one piece Then the fear that grips me will cease I know I’ll have to return one day But not for ages anyway Watch out the poets will all be there With love’s laughter and dreams to share Keth and Tita will cook a nice lamb While I go for a juicy ham Poets reading their poems galore My friends what fun we have in store Surprises, pressies a lot of love And friendship HIS gift from above Marsha Breathe through the heat of our desire Thy coolness and they balm Let sense be dumb let flesh retire Speak through the earthquake wind and fire [This message has been edited by Marsha (07-21-2002 10:41 PM).] |

So they will come from everywhere To visit Florida's wonder.. Titia from the Netherlands Kethry from Down Under, Marsha from the British Isle Krissy from there, too, Nanciness down from Cape Cod, Other poets, too. What will lie in store for all As the days progress? Poetry and friendships made That would be my guess. Hopefully the days will be Nice and calm and sunny. I want to meet my foreign friends 'Cause they all talk so funny!!  |

Sounds like you hate flying as much as I do! With a prayer or two you'll be just fine. Destination Florida, can't be beat! I live in Florida so I am a bit partial to the palm trees and beaches.  Deb |
