Inset eyes
deep. Alone they scan
the winter glass.
Broken panes resist a bit of wind
and breath still frosts the last.
Quiet vigil. Watch the night.
slide into the day
and if there ever was a time
were to rest and sleep give way.
No pocket full of dreams is left.
the wage has bought it's man.
Solo on the tarmac, the lonely
solid stands.
Wait up for the evil.
Watch out for the dark.
Reminisce for times forgotten
When life still held a spark.

This had that "oomph" at the end that I look for, and strive to write...if I keep sighing, I shall hyperventilate. sigh (make me stop?)

I can not ever seem to get over the amazing feeling I get when you guys read this stuff. It seems to inspire me to scribble a little more. You all are such fine writers I am humbled by your gifts of consideration. I can't tell you how it turns a rough day smooth. thanx one and all.
