Funny how you lose direction- Wonder what went wrong? See the shipwreck of your life, And hear the siren song…. See the wrinkles carved by age, The gray within your hair- Relive each hardship, and decision- That have put them there. Love? Emotion? Lust? Or folly- Call it what you will… Fear of capture, fear of losing- Cause our tears to spill. Drive away the ones who touch us- Deep within our heart… Better far to flee emotions Than to let them start. From my life I guess I’ve driven- Every single love- If they dared to draw too near- I’d leave them with a shove. I must cauterize the feelings- Of my foolish heart… And from all bondage of emotion- Must remain apart. |

These verses are very insightful.... From my life I guess I’ve driven- Every single love- If they dared to draw too near- I’d leave them with a shove. I must cauterize the feelings- Of my foolish heart… And from all bondage of emotion- Must remain apart. Amazing how we can keep a gaurd around our heart and remain drawn within. Good writing! |
