Waiting for You The autumn winds with swooping rush Flew through the trees with rustling brush This branch once filled my eyes with red Then laid them on a crimson bed I walked the crunch of carpet’s hue With longing for the touch of you Then winter came with icy limb That whistled out an eerie hymn I walked upon the silvery trial Of icy crust in snow and hail The branches crackled in the wind And thoughts of you remained within The frozen earth thawed into streams In February’s winter dreams With hope in every spring time seed I waited love’s most precious need The vibrant month of May came round And spread sweet flowers on the ground In every bloom of every hue I saw a portrait there of you The crackling branch in icy gleam Now filled with lush of summer green The season’s here, the day is near When someone’s longing eyes appear Fulfilling promises and dreams Into the summer of my year [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (07-14-2002 11:29 PM).] |

Dear Liz, once again this is a beautiful poem which you have shared with us all, so much meaning in each line, carrying the music of the museing poet and the expression of a rhyming heart. Much enjoyed, Sincerely Rick |

You know what I am thinking... I am thinking this is very reminiscent of times ago, when I first glimpsed your work, and saw a slender thread of link between you and a wonderful poet... and I see the magic again... this is so beautiful, Lady Santos... |
