Wedding black For Lori Do you wear black in dreams of me, or the green rings of your eyes? The red flicker of candle bowls? The white opaque of clouds nearby? Do you wear the blue of sky? The dusty glow of melting snow? The browning shadows of close branches? The muddy banks of river flow? Do you wear the gray of stone? The rainbow scales of butterfly? The hanging spectrum of horizon? See-through cells in multiply? I can see a glint of rain. A falling presence to the pane. Where we meet and coalesce. Cloud-placed marbles on your dress. She said burn ... together. |

Where is Lori-girl?...tell her I said she inspires amazing things in your pen  Now for me some words come easy |

Truth to be told, I've been to one funeral in my life, and I was only 8 then, so all I remember was the gathering after, where I was standing outside with my cousins, watching crickets, while the adults were inside drinking alcohol and every once in a while coming out to make sure us kids hadn't started fighting with each other. Oh, and at the funeral itself, my mom never got to see the body (Dad's father), 'cause she was holding my hand the entire time, and I freaked out and refused to look in the coffin. Almost went hysterical. And I didn't even own any black then, 'cept the costume I wore fr my 8th birthday. And I don't think I've ever owned white. But I've never been to any weddings, so hey.
