Splendoured things
splinter, perhaps
prematurely
out of the gate

They race, quite nonchalantly
to taste the soil
strewn
from the heels of vibrancy
yet, steal from beneath

Like the wind
Brows are raised
as dresses
on a pinwheel day
at the petty park

How fast
can one deliver
the crust of upperness

Sprint champions are borne
over moments
such as this

To judge one today
and become judged the next
in a whisper

Words pilfer out
in blackbird clouds
Fly away, from
what I am afraid
to say

Still

The sentence just bounces
on that wire

The one I wish
I could spell out
all across my heart skies

What I would never lie about

That is why
I love differently

That is what makes me
traipse the other side
of knowing
and pray for a kinder
place of rest

For if I think too hard
I am unworthy
and perhaps candescent lustre
is still far reaching
extraordinaire

But you...

You inspire air
to leave me
and take me there

Regina,
in this piece,

you are candle warmth
in dark hands cave
to a blind man
with newly healed eyes

I enjoy you this way

Regina, this is outstanding. As all your work is. I often don't reply, cause I cannot think of any words sufficient. You really are quite an amazing poet.

So many cleverly done lines of imagery and analogy....the metaphors you made your own.
This starts out so deep, brooding...introspective..you take the reader to the shades of gray...thru the clutter of self doubt we all carry...and as you walked us thru the clouded questions of how and why...as you wandered, I wondered, where is this going? . ..then in those perfect last verses of emotional impact, you turned the corner on clarity...the reason for your being...and the light goes on --the path is made clear.
Ive said before....thats some muse

"Candescence" ....yeah...thats the word I was looking for

We wish ourselves beautiful ... and cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ... but the fall from the height.

Regina, I find as I read your work I have to remind myself to breathe..
Your work is absolutely 'breathtaking', literally!
Amazing...just amazing!

(kiss on cheek) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Regina, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Nancy Lee said it well, I too find that when I read your work my posture is correct, but I forget to breathe until the very end, and out comes this huge SIGH Oh, I wish I could do this, you paint with your soul girl.

Nothing means more to me than faith,
family and my friends.

I enjoyed this, saved it to my hard drive (along with many of yours *s*) it is wonderful, I wish I had something profound to say, but I am at a loss for words...just know that it touches me, as do all of your works

I love not knowing the end of something till I get there and you wrapped this one up perfectly to suit that need.  Your use of verbage and metaphors give much to this piece and of course, the following lines are just to KUHL to be ignored ...

==============
To judge one today
and become judged the next
in a whisper

Words pilfer out
in blackbird clouds
Fly away, from

what I am afraid
to say

=================

This is a timeless creation in it's beginning and the words you closed it with will ring true to the eyes of many for a long time to come.  Excellent writing as always and I very much enjoyed.

Just wanted to say ........... I can't find "flacid" either. LOL  Sorry, but I just couldn't resist and since JM stopped looking, I thought I would keep the hunt going.  Besides, it is a reasonable excuse to bump this one to the top again.

I sware the lines in each piece of yours are so free, they just pour out to touch everyone. I am amazed. I can't even pick a favorite line...because they all come together to leave the reader with a mouth open and heart full.
