Near golden sunsets

In those endless moments of such torturous dissonance,
I've hardly disbanded from the heavy toned stare
directed toward the vacancy of your pillow.

It screams with constant misconceptions,
daring me to speculate on your unwarranted dismissal,
or your uncalculated disappearance.

Your perfume lingers on the pillow case,
enticing me to shamelessly indulge in a leftover memory,
kissing phantoms and whispering to ghosts.

I'm lost in the questions;
I'm urgently compelled to wish I was wise,
pull a reply from empty nothings and vacuous space.

The wise gloat with their knowing eyes,
pushing the despair deeper into my mind,
answering my pursuit with hollow laughter.

I whisper the why's, I scream them and sob them...
and still only hear the siren's silence
when I listen for an echoed answer.

I hate when these things end up at the bottom. Just why the hell are you at the bottom anyways? Geesh..time to shove good poetry in people's faces. "Tis a shame to have to do it this way, but you know I love doing it.
