The dark clouds came our way so quickly
as the thunder rolled along the horizon
and lightning punctuated the sky

The seagulls cried mournfully
as they flew away
seeking shelter from the storm

We were too engrossed in one another
to notice the spectacular light show
going on around us
for we were making our own fireworks

Heavy droplets of rain began
to pound the sand and forced us
to seek shelter in a disused boatshed
From here we watched how angry
Mother Nature had become
as the waves lashed the shore
and the beach became deserted

You put your arms around me
and held me close to you
as we watched our day transform
from a perfect sun filled day
into a perfect Summer storm

Enjoyed the poem Sue. We are about to have a storm here but it won't be nearly so romantic!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I love storms so much too, for while sunshine is breathtaking storms are dramatic and filled with so much enchantment!
