Morning gathers in the curtain
to displays a crimson light
dazzled through the slant of shading
across a flash of keen insight.

Delivered in the softest rustle
elfin feet are softly going
with the moon's own fingers quieting
to the sun’s more open flowing.

Now departs delicious sweet dream
yet lingers still profound delight
lays me down against this lapping
quiet water’s weaving light.

Pewter tinted stars devoured
by the cream that slithers in
whispering open up with listening
hark the softly growing din.

Blaze this tree in sunlit splendor
trace the flowering petal near
now I feel night’s sweet surrender
to the sun shine’s clean and clear.

Much enjoyed. Especially the part about pewter stars and cream.

I've been saving this one. I loved the title so much, it's a very tactile image, and the rest just flowed behind, like a drapery in pull. Soft and sensuous.

loved it.

gawwwd I love when you rhyme!!!!!
this is pure harmony of imagery and meter and read aloud like the poetic heaven you painted with your words.

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch

I've never quite heard things described in the way that you do, Martie...incredible rhymes and images...

As evidenced by the plethora of benevolant replies,
you have unearthed a poetic treasure,
your mind is the grizzled miner

and we are the beneficiaries of your wealth of words.
